This beautiful lightweight shawl is 75% wool and 25% silk in a fine herringbone pattern. It can be wrapped around the body but is also light enough to work as a neck scarf; perfect for the Australian climate. The shawl measures 200 cm x 70 cm.
The shawl is natural unbleached white colour and is ready to dye with botanical dyes or Ecoprint on a large steamer role. The fibre takes up dye colours beautifully.

A portion of marigold and walnut dye for a lovely rich golden/ mustard colour.
A portion of marigold dye with iron mordant for an olive green colour.
Madder root dye producing a fashionable 'clay' colour.
A combination of dyers chamomile with a small portion of Madder root for a popular soft apricot colour.
The shawl and dye kit comes with everything you need (measured portions of dye, mordant, calico ‘teabag’, instructions and 1 shawl). You will need a medium to large sized pot. If you use a large dye pot, you are more likely to get an even result because the fabric will have space to move around.
