Madder root powder 50g

This is a small quantity of Madder root powder (Rubia Cordifolia). Here are some ways it can be used in paper printing:

• Add it to a dirty pot to shift the colour towards mahogany
• Make up a red dyebath instead of a dirty pot ( Simmer the madder powder in water for about 30 minutes)
• You can strengthen the colour with onion skins
• Note that if the paper bundle contains a lot of iron, the colour will shift to purple.
• Soak the squares of French Terry in the paper kit with madder dye and lay them over your leaves and flowers (this is known as a dye blanket)

Note: If you want some Madder powder to dye fabric, use the fabric dye kit instead of this pack (especially if you are a beginner).  If you want larger amounts of Madder powder, you can buy it online at KraftKolour.
