The Original Eco-Printing Kit

This is our signature kit containing everything you need to begin exploring the world of eco-printing. The kit contains instructions, tools, dye binding agents, a practice silk handkerchief and your choice of a luxury silk scarf, luxury square silk twill scarf or luxury silk pillowcase. You can collect your own leaves and flowers, or purchase dried botanical packs from our website. Once you have finished your first project the kit can be reused indefinitely for future projects. 

The colour of the silk items is NATURAL WHITE. The finished images are examples of projects you can create with your kit.

Eco-printing (also known as bundle dyeing or botanical printing) is the art of delicately pressing leaves and flowers onto fabric and using steam to imprint the material with botanical designs. Silk is the perfect fabric to use as it easily takes up plant dyes and produces stunning detailed prints.

Eco-printing can be used to create fashion items, gifts and home furnishings using natural fabrics such as silk, linen and bamboo. When you open your first steam bundle and see the magic you have created, you will be amazed.

The kit contains

• A user friendly instruction booklet.
• Access to subscriber content on our website, including demonstration videos.
• Precise instructions for three beginner friendly projects. Once you have chosen your project, follow the instructions to decorate your chosen item.
• A flexible tube for rolling your bundle.
• A steaming rack to insert into the pot to keep the bundle away from direct heat.
• Gloves, a steaming bag, an elastic bandage, a plastic barrier sheet.
• Iron and alum binding agents.

The silk items are:

• One 33 x 33cm practice silk handkerchief
• One luxury silk scarf, 35 x 150cm,
  or:
• One luxury square silk twill scarf, 70cm x 70cm,
  or:
• One luxury silk pillowcase, queen size (51 x 76cm)

You will also need:

• A medium to large cooking pot (minimum 20cm diameter)
• A bowl of water
• If you don't want to source your own botanicals, one of our botanical packs
